If you need us to remove you from the Council Tax bill because you are selling your property, you need to let us know so that we can bill the correct person. This property might not have been your main residence, or you may be selling the property on behalf of someone else.

We will need to know:

• the date you are selling or have sold
• your new address
• your old address

What happens next

Once we’ve been notified of a change, we aim to process your request within 20 working days. Your account will be adjusted, and you will be issued with an amended bill, which will show your new or closing balance.

Any payments you make by Direct Debit will be either refunded, transferred to your new bill, or you will need to complete our refund form.
