Proxy vote
You can nominate another registered voter to vote on your behalf. This is usually valid for one election.
You may be able to have a permanent proxy, but you will need to provide evidence and a reason when you apply. For more information, visit the Electoral Commission website.
Apply to vote by proxy
You will need to apply to vote by proxy. If you cannot apply online, you can download a proxy vote form and send it to us. The form you need will depend on your circumstances.
When you apply, you will need:
- your National Insurance Number
- a photo of your signature
Emergency proxy
In the case of an emergency, you can apply for an emergency proxy up to 5pm on the day of the poll. You can apply if you can not go to the polling station due to an illness, or if you work in a specific occupation or service.
