Street furniture
Pavement licence to place tables, chairs and other furniture on public pavements
You will need a pavement licence from us to place street furniture, such as tables and chairs, on a public pavement. We have taken temporary responsibility from Kent County Council (KCC) for issuing these permits. A licence will run for a minimum of three months up to 30 September 2021.
You can put tables and chairs on your own land and on someone else’s land without a licence but you will need permission from the landowner.
Making an application
Before you apply, please view the Government guidance on pavement licences.
Your application should comply with the pavement licence conditions.
The licence costs £100 and you'll need to add your plans with your application.
