Some businesses may be breaking the law. This can include unlicensed vape shops or brothels. These businesses can be unsafe and harm the community.

We work with Kent Police and Trading Standards to find and stop illegal businesses. We use information from the public to help us act.

Report an illegal business

If you suspect a business is doing something illegal, you can:

• report it to Citizens Advice Consumer Service on behalf of Trading Standards
• report it to Kent Police if you have seen criminal or anti-social behaviour
• report it to our Community Protection Team

Modern slavery

Modern slavery is when people are forced to work or are exploited. It can include human trafficking and other serious crimes. This sometimes happens in illegal businesses.
