Address

The park is a 20-minute walk along the river from the town centre. The main entrance to Whatman Park is next to the LA Fitness Health Club.

Parking

The nearest car park is on James Whatman Way, or you can use any of our car parks in the town centre.

Riverboat

The Kentish Lady riverboat service runs from the town centre to the Malta Inn in Allington. You can ask it to stop at Whatman Park Wharf when you board the boat.

Facilities

Whatman Park has a Green Flag award of excellence. At the park you will find:

  • a raised boardwalk that runs through the trees
  • the Jolly Roger toddler play area
  • toilets, including disabled toilets
  • river stage open-air arena
  • an adventure play area
  • two nature reserves
  • a wharf for boats
  • a skate-park

Volunteers and friends

The friends of Whatman Park and other volunteer groups meet to run task days. Activities include pond dipping, building bat boxes, and tree planting. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
