Cllr Martin Cox, Leader of Maidstone Borough Council, said:

First of all I would like to thank Cllr Fran Wilson for all her hard work. The foundations that have been laid over many years have been solid.

Our three core priorities for 2018 remain the same: A Home for Everyone, A Clean, Green and Safe Environment and Regeneration of the Town Centre - focusing on these areas will ensure that our borough remains a great place in which to live, work, visit and prosper.

I am very pleased to have been elected as Leader and look forward to the challenge ahead.

Deputy Leader of the Council, Cllr Fay Gooch, added:

I am delighted to be able to continue to represent the views and needs of residents in this key role. With the adoption of Maidstone's Local Plan, the growing demands on infrastructure and reducing budgets, we need to work together to make sure that the decisions we take are strategic, cohesive and will stand us all in good stead, both now and in the future.

I am committed to working with the people of Maidstone to ensure that their voices are heard and their views are reflected in the decisions we take when shaping the vibrant and diverse communities within the borough.
