ONGOING CONSULTATION Make Sure You're Involved in the Council's Planning Process

The new Planning Act requires that Local Plans will be replaced by a Local Development Framework. Part of this new system means that the council will review the way it involves and consults the community concerning planning issues.

To address this the council has set up two new mechanisms to keep people in touch with what is going on and let them have the opportunity to comment on current plans.

Planning Forum

Stakeholders and representatives of local businesses and community groups have joined a new Planning Forum to share experiences of the council's planning service and to act as the main body to act as a consultation body for the Local Development Framework.

Planning Viewpoint

The new planning system has brought with it many changes with a large amount of new guidance, legislation and documentation. To help people keep up-to-date with all this information the council has created this information exchange group called Planning Viewpoint. The group does not meet in person, but receives newsletters and information via e-mail.

If you would like to join either or both of these groups contact via email or call 01622 602216.
