Vehicle access - kerbs
Dropped kerbs are required when access to off-road parking is
required due to, for example, the creation of a hard standing in
front of a property.
Dropped kerbs are processed by Kent County Council and installed
by Kent Highway Services and can cost between £1,000 to £2,500 to
install. For further information on dropped kerbs/vehicle
crossovers please visit the
Kent County Council website.
If a dropped kerb/vehicle crossover is approved and implemented,
and a designated parking bay under the authority of Maidstone
Borough Council is currently in place on the highway and will
obstruct access/egress to the dropped kerb, then you will need to
contact us to request the removal of such a bay as we would be duty
bound to do so.
