Maidstone Borough Wide Local Plan 2000
The Maidstone Borough-Wide Local Plan was adopted in December
2000.
Please be aware that from 28 September 2007, only some
of the policies in the Borough-Wide
Local Plan continue to form part of the Development Plan'
and are used in the determination of planning
applications.
Such policies are called 'saved' policies. This is part
of the process whereby new Local Development Framework documents
will delete or replace adopted local plan policies.
Those policies which have NOT been saved will NOT be
used in the determination of planning
applications.
Read the letter from the
Government Office for the South East, which confirms
which of the local plan policies have been saved.
Housing Land Position Statement: the Council
has reaffirmed its moratorium on the release of the outstanding
greenfield housing allocations in the Local Plan. Read the
Council's position statement, which has been adopted for
development control purposes to understand the background to this
decision.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO BE AWARE OF THE SAVED
POLICIES WHEN VIEWING THE LOCAL PLAN POLICIES
