Ownership Certificates and Notices

It is a legal requirement that owners of land upon which a planning application is being made are notified of that application. An owner is defined as a freeholder or a tenant/leaseholder with at least 7 years left to run on the tenancy/lease.

  • If the applicant is the only owner of all the land involved in the application then the Certificate A can be signed. Certificate A is also on the application forms.
  • If the applicant is not the only owner then you must serve a Notice on the owner and sign either Certificate B, C or D.

Instructions are on the Certificates and Notices.
