News Release
Theatre-goers in a football frenzy
Football fans will be in for a treat when
England legend Jimmy Greaves returns to the Hazlitt Theatre and
presents one lucky theatre goer with a signed print.
Jimmy Greaves is hailed as one of the greatest
English goal scorers of all time, and in his comic show, Jimmy
Greaves At 70 Tour, he reminisces of his time a professional
footballer and shares locker room secrets.
During the second half fans will get to ask
him questions, and he will also bring along a special mystery
guest, usually an ex-star such as Ron ‘Chopper’ Harris, Steve
Perryman, Martin Chivers, Ricardo Villa, Cliff Jones, Dave MacKay,
Bobby Smith or Pat Jennings.
The first customer to book a ticket for the
show, Bernie Maxted, will be presented with the signed print from
Jimmy himself.
‘Greavsie’ is legendary in football because he
scored an all-time record 357 First Division goals, plus 44 for
England in just 57 games (the all-time record of 49 goals took
Bobby Charlton 106 matches to amass). In all matches before his
premature retirement in 1971 at the age of just 31 he scored a
modern record 491 goals.
The show will begin at 7.30pm on Tuesday,
March 30, and tickets cost £18.50 or £16.50 for concessions.
