Creepy crawly down to the museum

Maidstone Museum is hosting a National Science and Engineering Day this Saturday (March 20).

Pop along to join in the fun. Children of all ages can come to the museum to make a wormery out of plastic bottles and find out why worms are so good for our earth.

Turn up from 10am-12.30pm or 1.30pm-3.30pm. It will cost £2 to take part and no booking is necessary.

To continue celebrating the national event the museum will be having a ‘hands on’ earth station. From 10.30am-12.30m and 1.30pm-3.30pm you can come along to find out what is under your feet. Handle specimens of creepy crawlies and rocks and minerals.

The hands on station is free and no booking is necessary.

Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, Cllr Brian Moss, said: “If you want to celebrate the National Science and Engineering Day then the museum is the place to be. its drop-in arts and crafts sessions make a great day out and for little or no cost at all you can learn about planet earth.”
