Grants for youth projects in Maidstone
The Safer Maidstone Partnership has £19,000 to allocate to
projects that promote a positive image of young people.
The partnership is a multi agency group, including Police and
councils, working to reduce crime and disorder, to keep Maidstone
safe.
Maidstone council cabinet member for community services,
John A Wilson, says the projects should be aimed at providing
positive activities for young people to reduce the likelihood of
antisocial behaviour. “We are looking to fund projects such
as the YMCA’s Hotspot Youth Outreach Project and the Charlton
Athletic Community Football Programme, which we funded in previous
rounds,” he said.
Grants up to £3,000 are available. The deadline for
applications is October 1 but there will be a further chance to
apply for grants May 2011.
