A date has been set for the Planning Committee meeting
to consider the KIG proposals
A date for Maidstone Borough Council’s
Planning Committee to formally consider the Kent International
Gateway application has been set for Thursday, May 7, 2009.
The Council’s Planning Committee will consider
the application to decide how it would have determined the
application and to enable it to finalise its Statement of Case.
The meeting will take place at the Maidstone
Studios in New Cut Road at 6pm.
Director of Prosperity and Regeneration,
Alison Broom, said: “The venue for the planning committee meeting
has been chosen to accommodate as many people as possible to hear
the debate and the meeting will be webcast live on the council’s
website.”
Residents still have until May 29, 2009 to
send in their comments to The Planning Inspectorate.
When the appeal was validated by the Planning
Inspectorate on February 23 Maidstone Borough Council
was given six weeks until April 6 to submit a written
statement setting out its case to the Planning Inspectorate.
This has been extended to May 29, 2009. The
Planning Inspectorate has also extended the deadline for comments
for all statutory and other consultees and any other interested
parties and local residents until May 29, 2009.
All responses that have been made on the
application up to now have already been forwarded to the Planning
Inspectorate and the appellant. Any further comments need to be
submitted directly to the Planning Inspectorate by sending three
copies, quoting the appeal reference number APP/U2235/A/09/2096565,
to ROOM 4/04 KITE, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple
Quay, Bristol. BS1 6PN. Responses must arrive by no later
than May 29, 2009.
There is no need to send copies to the council
as it will receive the comments from the Planning Inspectorate.
