Radio 1's Big Weekend, Mote ParkRadio 1's Big Weekend has been hailed a huge success, thanks to months of meticulous planning, top UK and international bands, glorious sunshine and an idyllic location.

Thousands of Maidstone residents came to see more than 50 bands perform on four stages, though the big draw for many was Queen of Pop, Madonna. Her stunning 30 minute set was broadcast live on national television on Saturday evening.

Other big names over the weekend included The Kooks - who headlined on Sunday, The Editors, The Ranconteurs, The Fratellis, Usher, The Feeling, Scouting for Girls, Fatboy Slim, The Wombats, Pendulum, The Zutons, Duffy and Adele as well two Kent bands who played on the BBC Introducing stage.
