Monday to Friday - 8am until *dusk
Saturday & Sunday - 8am until *dusk
South Park is situated about one and a half kilometres south of
the town centre. Follow the Loose Road (A229 to Hastings,
bear right into Armstrong Road), which then splits South Park into
two parts, the West and South sides and both parts hold many
facilities. It is a neighbourhood park designed by
Bunyards of Maidstone and developed from meadowland in
1929.
West Side
On the west side there are two
sections, one being a garden area with mature trees, shrubs,
bedding plants and a lily pond. This is an ideal place to
have a stroll along the rose avenue or sit awhile on a
bench. In the other section is a skate-park and
all-weather sports pitches. Combined facilities
include:
- Sk8s'n'Bruises skate-park
- All weather floodlit
Hockey/5-a-side Football pitches - for booking of pitches or

- Two Tennis Courts - Pay and Play -
Open all year
- Bowls Green - Open from May until
September - Come along and play!
South Side
On the south side, apart from housing
the Maidstone Hockey Club's clubhouse, other facilities
include:
- Toilets
- Car Park
- Childrens' Play Area -
suitable for 2 year olds and upwards
- Football pitches - 1 senior/2

Park
Friends of South Park are a
group of local residents who meet regularly with the council to
discuss current issues and new ideas for the park. If you wish to
