Our Promise

The council promises its customers that it will:

  • Respond to all letters within 10 working days, or let our customers know when they can expect a reply. If this is not possible, the customer should be informed of when they can expect a reply;
  • Answer 80% of contact centre calls at first point of contact;
  • Respond to e.mails within two working days. If this is not possible an email should be sent advising the customer of when they can expect a reply;
  • Pick up 90% of telephone calls within 15 seconds (six rings)
  • Respond to 85% of visitors within fifteen minutes
  • Monitor customer service to improve training and quality

Street Cleansing Team

   

Here is (from left to right) Alan Smitherman, team leader and Nick Page, section leader who form part of our area based cleaning street cleansing team.

 

They are responsible for keeping Maidstone Clean and Tidy.

Environmental Enforcement Officers

 

This picture shows (from left to right) Ian Hills, Environmental Crime Warden; Michael Swoffer, Pollution Technical Officer; Terry O’Brien, Pollution Technical Officer and Louise Baverstock, Environmental Crime Warden patrolling Brenchley Gardens in Maidstone.

 

The teams daily role is to enforce and provide advice on all aspects of Environmental and Public Health legislation. Specialist Staff within the team also respond to complaints from the public regarding Stray Dogs, Animals, Dog Fouling, Littering, Domestic and Commercial Waste, Accumulations, Flytipping and Illegal Street Trading.

Contact Centre

 

Here is (from left to right) Matt Cotton, who is a senior customer service advisor, Michael Durling and Sara Al-Badri who are Customer Service Advisors and Michelle Lee who handles switchboard calls. All four work in our Contact Centre

Their daily role involves answering the phones and being the first point of contact for our customers.

Hotfoot Summer Playscheme

Sarah Weller enjoys her first year on Hotfoot at Oaktrees Community School as an Arts and Craft Specialist.

 

 

Her duties include leading all arts and crafts session with the children including colouring, painting and paper mache play; to be able to adapt the activities to suit all abilities and needs; ensuring the well being and safety of the children attending the scheme and mentoring other site staff, and encouraging full participation in the activities.
