Supporting vulnerable people

The council has a strategic housing objective and commitment to entering into close working partnerships with appropriate partners, to ensure the continued and ever changing housing needs of the local community and vulnerable members of society are met.

This includes helping to ensure that accommodation is provided which will be appropriate for the existing and future users needs, incorporating features that enhance the quality of life for occupiers and enable residents to adjust better to independent living. This includes support towards the achievement of independent living skills, such as managing a household budget, paying bills, shopping and cooking, to help residents sustain a permanent independent tenancy in the future.
