Housing Associations - nomination and registration
Maidstone Borough Council works with a variety of Housing
Association and Registered Social Landlords to provide
affordable rented accomodation in in the borough.

for long term sustainable accommodation you may be eligible to
apply to a housing association or Registered Social Landlord (RSL)
for housing.
Generally, people housed by RSLs are those defined as being in
'housing need' but eligibility criteria differ.
- You can apply directly to the relevant housing association, you
will have to join a waiting list, which may be very long. Some
housing associations will not consider you unless you meet certain
criteria, for example, your connection to the parish may not be
adequate or your age or income may not suit their nomination
procedure to offer you housing.
- If you contact the Council with your housing enquiry and advise
us of your housing need, your details will be recorded. You may be
considered as a suitable 'nominee' for a property if once becomes
available through an RSL and you are eligible and deemed to be in
the greatest housing need at the time of nomination.
