Housing - public health advice
Maidstone Borough Council is committed to maintaining the health
and well being of the residents of Maidstone Borough. This is
delivered through the following services:
Private Sector Housing
The Private Sector Housing
team provide information, advice and enforce relevant
legislation on many aspects of private rent and privately
owned residential accommodation:
- Housing disrepair and safety hazards (Housing, Health and
Safety Rating System),
- Houses in Multiple Occupation – flats, bedsits, shared houses
etc.
- Houses in Multiple Occupation – mandatory licensing,
- Selective licensing,
- Empty homes,
- Accommodation certificates for immigration purposes,
- Referrals to partner agencies – home fire safe risk
assessments, Warm Front grants etc.
Enviromental Health
The Enviromental Health team provide
information, advice and enforce legislation regarding the following
aspect of public health:
- Air Quality
- Land Contamination
- Health and Safety
- Private Drainage problems
- Food Safety
- Vermius Properties
- Dog Control
