Special needs housing - capital grants
These are available to people with a disability to adapt their
home to suit their disability.
Disabled Facilities Grants are designed
to help disabled people adapt their homes to suit their needs.
However, in the case of a child there is no means test. Also,
please note that applicants receiving the following means tested
benefits will NOT need to be means tested again:
- Income based job seekers allowance
- Housing benefit
- Council tax benefit
- Guaranteed pension credit
- Working tax credit - if income is less than £15,000
- Child tax credit - if income is less than £15,000
