Off-Street Parking Places Order 2020 (Variation 30)

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL propose to make the above-named Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The Order will Amend the Kent County Council (Various Roads, Borough of Maidstone) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2017;

The effect of the (Waiting Restrictions VARIATION NO.30) will be to introduce new or to extend or amend existing waiting restrictions in the following lengths of road (in this part of the notice DYL means waiting to be prohibited at all times by double yellow lines; SYL and loading restrictions means no waiting at the times prescribed below).

FAVERSHAM ROAD, LENHAM; prohibiting waiting at all times [double yellow lines] on the south-eastern side from a point 37 metres of its junction with Faversham Road (Part) heading to Atwater Court for a distance of 25 metres in a south/south-westerly direction.

LOOSE ROAD; prohibiting waiting at all times [double yellow lines] on the western side from the eastern boundary of 100 Loose Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 309 metres.

CHAPEL LANE, STAPLEHURST; prohibiting waiting at all times (double yellow lines) from its junction with the High Street on both sides for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.

Prohibiting waiting between 8:30am and 6:30pm, on all days [single yellow lines] in

FAVERSHAM ROAD, LENHAM; on its south-eastern side from a point 77 metres from its junction with Faversham Road (part) leading to Atwater Court in a south/south-westerly direction to a point 10 metres of its junction with Old Ashford Road

Prohibiting waiting between 1:00pm and 1:30pm, Monday to Friday [single yellow line] in

NORTHDOWN CLOSE; from a point 27 metres north-west of its junction of Boxley Road for the remainder of its length.

NORTHDOWN CLOSE; round the entire circumference of the island perpendicular to numbers 23 to 44.

Prohibiting on loading/unloading between 8am and 6:30pm, Monday to Saturday [single kerb markings] in KING STREET; on the south side from its junction with the bus station for a distance of 16 metres in a westerly direction.

Prohibiting on loading/unloading between 8:15am – 9:15am and 3pm – 6pm, Monday to Friday [single kerb markings] in LOOSE ROAD; on the western side from the eastern boundary of 100 Loose Road in a north westerly direction for a distance of 309 metres.

Designated disabled persons parking places

Formalising existing disabled persons parking bays in the following location;

CAMPBELL ROAD; perpendicular to the frontage of number 13

MELVILLE ROAD; perpendicular to the frontage of number 46

Designated time limited parking places

To introduce new electric taxi charging vehicle only bays in the following location;

PUDDING LANE; from a point 65 metres south of its junction with Earl Street in a southerly direction for a distance of 15 metres.

School restrictions

Formalising existing school keep clear markings between 8am and 9am or between 3pm and 4pm, Monday to Fridays during school term time in the following locations;

BICKNOR ROAD; on the eastern side throughout the length of any school keep clear markings as marked on site.

FURFIELD CLOSE; on the south eastern side throughout the length of any school keep clear markings as marked on site.

HAM LANE, LENHAM; on the north-eastern side throughout the length of any school keep clear markings as marked on site.

HILDENBOROUGH CRESCENT; on the south-western side throughout the length of any school keep clear markings as marked on site.

QUEENS ROAD; on the south eastern side throughout the length of any school keep clear markings as marked on site.

The Order includes some wording changes of an administrative matter which will make no alterations to existing parking and waiting restrictions and will require no changes to existing parking lines or signs.

Copies of the proposed orders, any orders which will be amended by the proposed orders, a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the orders and maps indicating the location and effect may be examined on our website.

If you wish to offer support or object to a proposed order you should send the grounds for your objection in writing to our Parking Services Team quoting the name of the order by 12 noon on Monday 13th July 2020.
