Councillor Chittenden disclosed that he had been lobbied in respect of Agenda Item 9 – Tudor Avenue, Maidstone – Parking Restrictions, Agenda Item 11 - Rushmead Drive, Maidstone – Parking Restrictions and Agenda Item 16 – Roadworks Reinstatements and Rights to carry out work plus update on Knightrider Street Gas Works.

The Board considered the report of the Head of Transportation regarding parking restrictions in Tudor Avenue, Maidstone and the comments made by the public speakers.

 

RESOLVED: That the Cabinet Member for Highways, Environment and Waste be recommended to approve the parking restrictions on Tudor Avenue as set out in the report of the Head of Transportation.

The Board considered the report of the Head of Transportation regarding parking restrictions in Emsworth Grove, Maidstone.

 

RESOLVED: That the Cabinet Member for Highways, Environment and Waste be recommended to remove the Double Yellow Line proposals and replace with Single Yellow Line restrictions to eradicate commuter parking and that the proposed time-plate is to read Mon-Sat 10:00am to 11:00am and then again between the hours of 15:00 to 16:00.

RESOLVED: That the Cabinet Member for Highways, Environment and Waste be recommended to approve the installation of Double Yellow Lines on Rushead Drive from its junction with the A229 Loose Road for a distance of 17m.

The Board considered the report of the Head of Transportation regarding a proposed 40mph speed limit in Boxley Road and Beechen Bank Road.

 

RESOLVED: That the Cabinet Member for Environment, Highways and Waste be recommended:-

 

i)  That the 40mph speed limit with additional road markings be implemented, subject to approval from Boxley Parish Council for the additional cost.

ii)  If i) above is not approved by Boxley Parish Council, then the 40mph speed limit with no additional measures, and therefore without Police support, be implemented.
