Our new Community Protection team was created in July 2017 and is committed to keeping communities safe, as well as helping us to deliver one of our key priorities - a clean and safe environment for everyone.
The team deals with a wide variety of issues including noise pollution, anti-social behaviour as well as mental health and self-neglect. These cases, whilst very challenging, are immensely rewarding when a happy outcome is achieved.
Here is what one of our Community Protection Officers said:
“I recently was involved with a resident whose property had a serious issue with a build-up of domestic and animal waste.
“After extensive clearing and cleansing of the property, we were able to make sure that the house was more habitable. The resident is now living in a much safer and more comfortable environment.
“This change has meant a significant difference to this individual and I am really proud to be a part of this important work.”
