Recycling Collection Service
Maidstone's fortnightly recycling collection
service has been rolled out across the borough,
while rubbish remains on a weekly collection.
All homes* now have the new improved fortnightly
recycling collection service for paper, cardboard, tins & cans
and some types of plastics.
Glass bottles and jars can be recycled by taking them to your
local bottle banks. It is important to separate the different
colours so that they can be recycled into new bottles and jars.
If you are not able to take your glass to the bottle banks,
please put it in your grey rubbish wheelie bin/black
sacks where it will be recycled into road aggregate
after incineration. (Please wrap broken glass before placing
in sacks, thankyou).
Please do not put glass in your recycling bin/box.
*Except some flats that do not have room for additional communal
recycling bins.

For more information about
plastic recycling please follow this link.
Households have a 190 litre grey wheelie bin for
their weekly rubbish collection and green 240
litre wheelie bins for the fortnightly recycling
collection. Large families can request larger bins
and special arrangements will be made for people who don't have
wheelie bins or space for a second bin.
Garden waste is collected
fortnightly, green bins (with yellow stripe) can be ordered
or green garden sacks purchased.
