Recycling, rubbish and waste

Each year, Maidstone households throw away more
than 60,000 tonnes of rubbish, of which more
than 65% could easily be recycled.
By simply reducing, reusing and
recycling your waste, you can reduce the strain on natural
resources, reduce the harmful effect on the environment and
reduce the cost of waste disposal.
We can all make a difference. For more
information on how to recycle certain items, follow the link
to Kent County Council's
A-Z of waste.
Many items including cooking oil and electrical
appliances can now be accepted for recycling at your local
Household Waste Recycling Site
