Collection Updates - Snow
Information about waste collections and disruption caused by the
snow can be found here.
Information
Each year, Maidstone households throw away almost 40,000
tonnes of rubbish, of which more than 65% could easily be
recycled.
By simply reducing, reusing and
recycling your waste, you can reduce the strain on natural
resources, reduce the harmful effect on the environment and
reduce the cost of waste disposal.
A third of the food that we buy ends up being thrown
away and we need your help in reducing this, therefore
we introduced weekly kerbside Food
waste collections at the end of January 2011.
We can all make a difference. For more
information on how to recycle certain items, follow the link
to Kent County Council's
A-Z of waste.
Many items including cooking oil and electrical
appliances can now be accepted for recycling at your local
Household Waste Recycling Site.
