Local Land Charges

Land Charges undertake searches as part of the conveyancing process and reveal information relating to planning, road adoption, restrictions of use of the land and other vital information for house purchasers.

A search of the Local Land Charges register and enquiries used to take around ten days. Today using the latest map based computer system a search of the Local Land Charges Register can be completed within 10 minutes and the further enquiries can be completed within two days. Our clients believe we offer the best service with the best value for money in Kent. Commons Registrations

The Local Land Charges Service receives a large number of enquiries regarding common registration searches for properties in the borough of Maidstone. The council is not responsible for Commons Registrations.

HM Land Registry

The Local Land Charges Service receives a large number of enquiries regarding the ownership of pieces of land in the borough of Maidstone. The council does not hold a register of private land ownership; this is the responsibiltiy of HM Land Registry.
