LDF SHLAA 2009

The strategic housing land availability assessment (SHLAA) is a document that Maidstone Borough Council is required to produce by Central Government.

The document looks at what land is potentially available for development in the Borough and assesses that land to see if in principle it is:

  • available
  • deliverable
  • developable

This document identifies sites on that basis alone, and does not apply further planning and sustainability criteria. The sites in this document are not allocations. Allocations are made through the development plan process. The SHLAA is an evidence document.
