Local development framework (LDF)

 

 

The Maidstone Borough Council local development framework (LDF) sets out the policies that determine where, when and how development takes places in the borough. All planning proposals that the Borough Council deals with are judged against these policies.

 

The Spatial Policy team prepares the LDF. 

 

Call for potential development sites

 

Housing and employment

Following consultation on the Maidstone Borough Council Core Strategy in September and October 2011, the council is seeking information on sites that may have potential for development within the proposed strategic development locations at:

  • North west of Maidstone urban area (housing - for approximately 975 dwellings)
  • South east of Maidstone urban area (housing - for approximately 1000 dwellings)
  • M20 junction 8 (employment - for approximately 11 hectares net)

Site information must be submitted on the call for sites pro-forma available below. Hard copies are available on request.

This information should be submitted, preferably by email to ldf@maidstone.gov.uk, by 17:00 on Friday 15 June 2012.

 

Park and ride

The council is seeking information and expressions of interest to explore the potential for new park and ride sites near:

  • Linton cross road (A229/B2163)
  • M20 junction 7

Site information must be submitted on the park and ride pro-forma available below. Hard copies are available on request.

This information should be submitted, preferably by email to ldf@maidstone.gov.uk, by 17:00 on Friday 22 June 2012.

These exercises allow you to propose potential development sites. The council will assess sites on an equal basis, but there is no commitment by the council that your site(s) will be allocated for development.
