Appeal

The applicants lodged an appeal after the Council did not determine the application within the statutory time.

 

Planning Committee

The Planning Committee decided that it would have refused the application. 

 

New environmental, design and access information

On July 10 the appellants submitted a Supplementary Environmental Statement and a Supplemental Non-technical Summary of the environmental information, and a revised Design and Access Statement.

 

Question - Where can I find the new information?

 

Answer - The new documents are available at The Gateway, King Street,  Maidstone during normal opening hours and online - see Supplementary Environmental Statement - July 2009.

 

Question - What's the deadline for futher comments and where should they be made?

 

Answer - The deadline for further comments is August 7 2009.  Write to Steve Clarke, Principal Planning Officer, Maidstone Borough Council, Maidstone House, King Street, Maidstone, ME15 6JQ,  quoting reference no. MA/07/2092, or by e-mail to kigcomments@maidstone.gov.uk

 

Question - What will happen to my comments?

 

Answer - All comments will be forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate and the appellants, and will be taken into account along with any previous comments that have already been forwarded by the Council.

 

Question - What about previous comments?

 

Answer - All responses that have been made on the application up to now have already been forwarded to the Planning Inspectorate and the appellant.

 

Question - How will the appeal be dealt with?

 

Answer - The appeal will be determined by means of the Public Inquiry procedure in front of an appointed Planning Inspector. Following the closure of the Inquiry, the Inspector will draft a report  and make a recommendation to the Secretary of State (for Communities and Local Government) who will make the final decision on the appeal.  

 

Question – When will the Public Inquiry be held?

 

Answer - The Public Inquiry will start on October 13, 2009 and is expected to last eight weeks.
