Maidstone Borough Council commissioned The Landscape Partnership to
undertake a description and assessment of the landscape character
of Maidstone Borough in May 1999. The document was then
published following consultation in 2000.
The document also serves as a manual giving practical guidance
for regulating proposed landscaping schemes within the borough in
order to achieve a good quality design within developments in urban
