Reporting poor care of animals

 

We are responsible for any welfare issues occurring in premises which we license.  If you suspect animal welfare needs are not being met in a Council-licensed establishment please contact the Environmental Enforcement team on 01622 602117.

 

For all other enquiries reporting the welfare of animals please call the RSPCA's 24-hour national cruelty and advice line on 0300 1234 999.

 

What we currently licence

 

The Licensing Team and Environmental Enforcement jointly deal with various animal licences.

 

You can apply for these licences online, except for Dangerous Wild Animals and Dog Breeding. The application forms for these are available to download and print off for completion. Alternatively, we will post you forms for any animal licences on request: please contact us using the details to the right of this page.

Riding Establishments

Zoos

Dangerous wild animals

Dog Breeding

 

We do NOT licence:

 

v  Animal movement

v  Veterinary Practitioners

Game dealing

 

How much do licences cost?

 

Some animal licences carry set fees, whereas other fee levels vary depending on the capacity of the establishment. Full details are included on the pages for each type of licence: please follow the links above.
