Bank Holiday Collections

From now on we will be collecting on all Bank Holidays except Christmas and New Year. For further details click here.

Clinical Waste Collections

We provide a separate free weekly collection service for clinical waste which must be requested by your GP or nurse.  Specially marked yellow plastic sacks are provided for storage. Sharps (needles etc) will only be collected in an approved container.

Collections are not made from nursing homes, veterinary, dentist or doctors surgeries.  This is classed as commercial waste. Incontinence pads and babies nappies are not treated a clinical waste and should be securely wrapped in suitable plastic bags and put with your general rubbish that cannot be recycled, for collection.

We promise to:

  • Deliver 78 black rubbish sacks annually to your home, if you do not have a wheelie bin.

Collect your household rubbish on the same day every week (except over Christmas and New Year)

  • Collect your paper/mixed recycling and garden waste once a fortnight.
  • Publish details of your recycling collection service.
  • Every December publish details of your collection service over Christmas and New Year
  • Return your wheelie bin and recycling boxes to your property in a place where it does not obstruct access by people or vehicles.
  • Collect your missed rubbish or recycling collection by the end of the next working day.
  • Provide you with a new or replacement wheelie bin/recycling boxes within 7 working days of notification.
  • Be tidy and clear up any spillages.

How you can help us:

  • Leave your rubbish and recycling at the boundary of your property, next to the pavement.
  • Make sure that all your rubbish is inside your wheelie bin. The lid must be closed. Additional rubbish on top or by the side of your wheelie bin will not be collected.
  • In the unlikely event of a missed collection, please call 01622 602162.
  • Please do not overload your wheelie bin or sacks. Your rubbish will not be collected if it is too heavy.
