Sports, clubs and centres

Sports, Play and Youth Development plays an important role at Maidstone Borough Council, supporting sport and physical activity in the borough.

The team aims to provide sporting and play opportunities to the community, young disabled people, schools and sports clubs.

The team

• offer support to local clubs,
• help create links between the community and schools,
• promote mass participation for local people,
• work to improve the sporting facilities available and
• highlight the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Current Projects the team are working on:

	Disability sports club running weekly on a Monday and Thursday
	Play Scheme in Easter and Summer for 5- 11 year olds
	Want to talk about things that affect you, Maidstone Youth Forum can help
	Skateboarding and BMX competitions
	Live music event at Whatman Park
	Awards evening recognising the talent and dedication of young people in sport
	Dance club nights at Maidstone Leisure Centre
