Review of polling districts and polling place
We are currently reviewing the polling districts and polling
places within
the Borough of Maidstone. This page will be updated as the
review progresses.
Consultation
Under the Representation of the People Act 1983, the Council has
a duty to split the borough
into polling districts and to designate a polling place for each
district. It has to keep these
arrangements under review. The last full review was carried in
2007. A review of polling
districts and polling places had to be completed by 31 December
2011. It is important to note
that this review focused solely on polling districts and polling
places - other electoral matters
(such as parish or ward boundaries, electoral representation
etc.) cannot be considered.
The final proposals split into Parliamentary
Constituencies Maidstone & TheWeald and Faversham & Mid
Kent upon which we were consulting ran until Tuesday
29 November 2011.
