Basic Allowance

The basic allowance for all members with effect from April 1, 2012 is £4,666 per annum.

 

Special Responsibility Allowances

Executive Members of the Council are entitled to claim a Special Responsibility Allowance.  These are as follows:

Travel and Subsistence Allowances

In addition, the following travel and subsistence allowances are also payable under the Members’ Allowance Scheme:-

 

Travel Allowance Rates:

            Cars and Vans                 45p per mile

            Motorcycles                     24p per mile

            Bicycles                          20p per mile

            Plus 5p per mile for any passengers carried.

 

Subsistence Allowances:

            Breakfast                          £5.37

            Lunch                               £7.70

            Tea                                  £3.04

            Dinner                              £9.53

Summary of Allowances Paid

According to the requirements of Regulation 15, Paragraph 3 of the Local Authorities (Members’ Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003, local authorities should also make available the total sum paid by it during the financial year under the Members’ Allowance scheme in respect of each of the following: basic allowance, special responsibility allowance, dependents’ carers’ allowance, travelling and subsistence allowance and co-optees allowance.
