The Housing Sounding Board
The role of the Housing Sounding Board is
to review MBC housing policy; Identify community issues; Set and
agree action plans; Monitor performance and the implementation of
our policies; Suggest improvements Promote best
practice; Consult about Government policy and to ensure our
stakeholders have the opportunity to provide feedback.
The board is a made up of local community
groups and advice agencies, Registered Social Landlords and elected
members. Anyone involved or interested in housing either directly
or indirectly can join the board. The board meets quarterly and
covers a range of issues: The board is an excellent forum for any
organisation to consult on any housing or community related issues
facing your organisation.
The Registered Social Landlord forum
The Registered Social Landlord (RSL) Forum meets two to three
times a year.
It consists of officers from Housing, Planning and RSL partners
who operate and own/manage social housing stock within the borough.
Its used to discuss housing related issues such as
management/lettings, new-build development, funding, design and
quality, as well as consulting and updating partners on new housing
policy/strategy.
Homelessness Stakeholders Group (Kent Wide)
The Kent Homeless Officers Group is a sub-group of the
Kent Housing Group.
The KHG is formed of not just the Chief Housing Officers in
Kent, but also CEOs of housing associations and developers.
The Kent Homeless Officers Group is formed of Housing Options
Managers (or dedicated homeless offiers if
the authority has one) from all the Kent Local
Authorities. The group meets four times a year.
Housing Strategy and Enabling Group (Kent Wide)
The Housing Strategy and Enabling Group is
formed of housing strategy and enabling officers from Kent Local
Authorities. It is also a sub-group of the KHG. The group
meets six times a year.
The Mental Health Forum
The Maidstone Mental Health Forum is run and chaired by Sue
Scammel from Kent County Council. The Group meets four
times a year.
