Death - registering

All deaths should be registered with a Registrar of Births and Deaths in the area where the death occurred however, it may be possible to arrange registration long distance if the informant is prevented from travelling to the area where the death occurred. They should be registered within five days unless a coroner is investigating the circumstances of the death.

Your GP will be able to advise you or, if the death occurred in a hospital, the hospital staff will assist.
