Grants for landlords

 

Discretionary grants of up to 75% of the eligible cost of works up to a maximum of £10,000 per letting are available for landlords.

 

Financial eligibility

 

·         The landlord must own the property outright.

 

Work eligibility

 

·         The property must require repairs or improvements to make it free from serious hazards or to make it decent.

 

Examples of these types of problems might be to repair or renew a leaking roof, sort out serious dampness problems, or to renew dangerous wiring.

 

Occupation eligibility

 

·         The property must be occupied by tenants who are not related to the landlord.

 

Conditions

 

These grants are offered on a discretionary basis and are subject to sufficient funds being available.

 

·         The grant will be repayable if after receipt of grant the property is sold within 5 years.

 

·         The grant will be repayable if at any time during the 5 year conditions period the property becomes unavailable for letting.

 

·         The grant and grant conditions will be registered as a local land charge.
