Grants for heating and insulation

 

Discretionary grants of up to £7,000 are available for owners or private tenants of properties.

 

Financial eligibility

 

·         The occupier/s must be in receipt of a means tested benefit or,

 

·         Their main source of income is the state retirement pension and they have less than £16,000 in savings.

 

Work eligibility

 

·         Their property requires the installation or repair of a heating system to make the property free from category 1 hazards or to make it decent.

 

·         The property requires insulation measures to bring the property up to a decent thermal standard.

 

·         In some circumstances the installation of solar water heating can be considered.
