Apply for a pitch and start trading

Maidstone Borough Council are looking for new traders at the Saturday and Tuesday Markets in the following area(s):

When you come to trade, please bring with you:

  • The pitch hire fee
  • Proof of your public liability insurance – we only need to see this the first time that you trade, or as soon as you renew your Insurance. Without public liability insurance you cannot trade at Maidstone market
  • Your photo ID document that you registered on your application form.

At the moment, our online payment system for your Pitch Hire fee is still under development – for now, please bring cash or a cheque on the day you want to trade.

 

Applications

Applications for a market stall will take 48 hours (maximum), although we expect to turn your application around within the day.

 

If you have not heard back from us after 48 hours, you can assume that your application has been successful. However, if in any doubt, please contact Market Services via the contact details on the right hand side of this page.

 

If for any reason your application is unsuccessful, or you have a complaint as a current stallholder, please contact Market Services via the contact details on the right hand side of this page.

 

If you are planning to regularly sell food and drink, you need to be registered with Environmental Health at Maidstone Borough Council within 28 days of beginning to trade.

This is free of charge.
