Licensing

The Maidstone Borough Council licensing team, in partnership with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council and Sevenoaks District Council, deals with a wide variety of licences, including:

Please find a comprehensive list of what we licence below, with links to more information and application facilities on the side-bar to the left of this page. Some of these procedures are handled by Environmental Enforcement or Housing, as well as licensing. There are also links to sources of information on some procedures not processed by Maidstone Borough Council.

You can apply for many of our own procedures online. Of the licences and permits where this is not yet possible, many application forms are available to download and print off for completion. Alternatively, we will post you application forms on request: please contact us using the details to the right of this page.

Service provider registers

Several registers of service providers operating in the Maidstone borough are held by the council. These include:

  • licensed businesses in the areas listed above;
  • restaurants and other businesses handling foods;
  • caravan and camping sites;
  • Houses in Multiple Occupation; and
  • various specialist activities which may have Environmental Health restrictions upon them.

These are listed in a public register of service providers, which contains links to online registers and contact details for the officers responsible for registers held in hard copy.
