Moving home

Whether you are moving into, out of, or within the Maidstone Borough Council's area please call 01622 602003 or email us.

You will need to supply:

• Your Council Tax reference number;
• Your full name;
• The moving date;
• The full address of where you are moving from;
• The full address of where you are moving to;
• The names of any other person affected by the move for example the person you are buying the property from and/or the person who is buying your property;
• Your solicitor's details if you are selling or buying.

We will update the accounts, usually within five working days and send out any appropriate revised or new accounts as required.

Other changes in your circumstances

If there are any changes that might affect your liability for Council Tax, for example

• you are receiving a discount and someone else moves in with you
• you are receiving an exemption that would no longer appear to be appropriate
• you are receiving Council Tax benefit and there is a change in your income or savings or someone else has moved in or out of the property;
